Frisbee Golf
Frisbee golf is a game where you try to get a frisbee/disc into a basket. To win the game, you must get the fewest amount of throws when you are trying to get the disc in the basket. The game was invented in the early 1900s, but no one knows exactly who or when it got started. The first more modern version of the game was made in the 1960s by various people across the country. The people who thought of the idea to give it a name by "disc golf" and to put chains in the baskets were George Sappenfield and "Steady Ed" Headrick. In 1975, Headrick came up with the Pro Disc Golf Association (PDGA)that gave the game official rules. Today, the game is growing by 12 percent each decade since the 1960s, and there are more than 3000 courses in the world. Out of those 3000 courses 87% of them are free! Forty countries play frisbee golf globally, primarily in North America, Central and Western Europe, Japan, New Zealand and Australia. Disc golf is one of the least expensive sports and it is a fun way to spend time with people.
