Light Bulb

The  light bulb or incandescent light bulb, is something that creates light using electicity. A light bulb works by having an electric current go through a thin piece of fiber (filament) that creates heat and light.The reason that there has to be a bulb around the filament is so that the filament can't get any oxigen. From 1.5 volts to 300 volts, the incandescent light bulb can have various voltages.The incandescent light bulb requires no external maintenance equipment and has a low manufacturing cost, and it works well on either alternating current or direct current. The incandescent bulb is  used in many different areas such as table lamps, car headlights, flashlights, for decorative, and advertising lights. Even though the incandescent light bulb sounds great it is being replaced by LED lights because LED lights make less heat and more light for the same amount of power. By the United States federal law, the incandescent light bulb will not be made anymore by 2014. The reason it won't be manufactured anymore is that it can be replaced by more energy efficient light bulbs.
