William Howard Taft was the United States of America's 27th president and the 10th Chief Justice on the Supreme Court. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on September 15, 1857. William went to Yale and Cincinnati Law School in 1880. In 1887 he was appointed on the Ohio Supreme Court. Then in 1891 he was put on the 6th circuit of the Court of Appeals. In 1904, President Theodore Roosevelt appointed Taft to his cabinet as the Secretary of War. Then in 1908 he ran for president and won by an easy victory. During his presidency, Taft became depressed and started to gain weight. Taft was the heaviest president weighing at 300 pounds and he was the last president to have facial hair.
